A 900-meter concrete road in Barangay Sta. Margarita, Quinapondan, Eastern Samar is now serviceable to the public following its project completion.
“This project will help the local residents in transporting their agricultural products to the market, as well as providing a safer and faster mobility of their goods and services and also reducing transportation cost,” said Engr. Ma. Margarita Junia, head of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Eastern Samar District Engineering Office.
The concreting of a local road in Barangay Sta. Margarita, which started on February 15, 2021, has a total project cost of P9,615,876.93 funded under the local infrastructure program.
Florentino Macawile, barangay chairman of Sta. Margarita, added the newly concreted road “will be a big help” to his more than 700 constituents.
Meanwhile, the DPWH-Eastern Samar District Engineering Office announced that four bridges along Can-avid-Dolores-Maslog Road are to be completed this year.
The ongoing bridge construction projects included Hinolaso Bridge 1, Hinolaso Bridge 2, Hinolaso Bridge 3 and Villahermosa Bridge.
The projects have a total project cost of P212.48 million.
“We are almost done with the construction of the three bridges which is very critical, now the contractor will focus on the embankment and construction of the approaches,” said Junia.
