Borongan Cith Information Office – Now reaching close to 75% of targeted vaccinated Boronganons, the City LGU hopes to move farther ahead in its intent to provide its citizens full protection against COVID-19 virus, this time by giving them booster shots.
So said, Atty. Romeo Alexis Devora, in a phone interview with Ms. Pen Pomida, over Radyo Pilipinas, DYES, recently.
“That is, if we are only given the green light,” Atty. Devora clarified.
The Head of the City’s Public Health and Safety Task Force (PHSTF) said that, as he spoke, about 30K of the 40K target Boronganons, aging 18 and above have already been inoculated, excluding the past week’s total number served with Pfizer vaccines.
He expressed confidence that the City LGU, given the good number of fully vaccinated individuals, which of course is still counting, can therefore plan for the next step of giving protection to its people.
In a separate interview and given the vaccination numerical progress, City Mayor Jose Ivan Dayan Agda projected as well, that by the end of 2021, the targeted number for vaccination could be achieved, hence a booster shot could be planned out earlier.
And too, this, even before the City LGU’s self-bought vaccines have yet to arrive, which to him may no longer be necessary.
“I can even sense, that there might even be no need for us to spend our money to buy the vaccines, because of the fact, that the vaccines given us by the national government are fairly sufficient and continuing,” Mayor Agda said over VWTV’s “ Kasayuran”.
A booster shot is believed by health experts to be necessary for certain age group who completed their initial series, since protection against the virus could be lesser, over time, it was learned. # (File photos posted)
